I've spent four decades teaching and working with children, and developing specialized curricula for children — for most of whom standard classroom didn't fit. After recently retiring from full-time teaching, I opened Tadpole Tutoring & Behaviour Services so I could go back to what I love most: working with one child at a time, in the way that actually helps them grow.
I graduated as a special education teacher in Budapest, Hungary with a Master's degree in 1987, continued my education in Learning Disabilities at Santa Clara University in California, and hold a degree in Autism and Behavioural Sciences from Seneca College, Toronto. Across those decades I've taught hundreds of students to read and to become active learners — supporting families as a teacher, a resource specialist, a behaviour support practitioner, and at times simply as a trusted adult.
I learned that every child is able to learn and make significant progress, no matter where we start. Most of the time, we just have to be patient enough to find the right approach.

Our school system is overwhelmed with kids who do not fit into the standards. Progress depends on a team — parents, support system, teachers, and a learner who feels safe and motivated in a structured environment with clear expectations and rewards.
